On the nose
Squid ink blackness, a brooding dark amalgam of black pudding, sweetbreads and marrow. A brisk swirl of the glass reveals scents of nori, oyster/blackbean sauce and iodine. A concession of varietal alignment – cabernet florals, blackcurrant and black mulberry.
On the palate
Plush, richly flavoured palate with dense blackcurrant, dried plum, paneforte flavours, fine plentiful grainy slightly al dente tannins, astonishing mid-palate richness and mocha, sweet malty oak notes. Generous, multi-layered and complex with impressive vim and vigour. Finishes firm and tight with a dense plume of fine tannins.
