Profile Single Malt
Body Whiksy

An obsession with quality has been the hallmark of The Macallan since its founding by Alexander Reid on a plateau above the river Spey in north-east Scotland. The Macallan was one of the first distillers in Scotland to be legally licensed. Since then we have built a reputation as one of the world’s leading single malt whiskies. The creation of The Macallan draws on the vital contributing influences of Spain, North America and Scotland - and of their respective natural raw materials, combined with traditional methods and craftsmanship.

Product Notes
The Macallan 1947 Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky is one of the results of a simple vision; to identify the very best of The Macallan maturing stock and create the most exceptional range of vintage Single Malt ever released! This program has been named 'Fine & Rare' and is the definitive story of The Macallan and provides an unprecedented opportunity for collectors and connoisseurs to celebrate or mark a year that is special to them with the world's most precious vintage whisky. Arguably the most unique release from the Macallan Fine & Rare Collection, the 1947 iteration was originally bound for Italy as a 15 year old before being rebranded as Fine & Rare. Bottled in 1962, only a mere 270 bottles were produced in this private collection, with the vintage's character taking on a distinctly unique peatiness thanks to the post-war period's lack of available coal.
