Tasmania is ideally situated to make malt Whiskey, and yet 150 years after the last licensed Tasmanian distillery closed its doors, it took a Whiskey lover to realise the environment was perfect.  in 1992, the Lark household became the first Australian distillery to produce single malt spirit in 154 years. The spirit continued to grow and evolve, leading to the creation of a rich Tasmanian Single Malt Whiskey aged in small casks. Finally in 1998, after years in the making, the first Lark Distillery Single Malt Whiskey was released commercially. The Lark Distillery has seen substantial growth over the years, but the commitment to producing a quality Tasmanian Single Malt has stayed the same.  The result is a rich and viscous spirit, with the house style of citrus on butterscotch, that makes up both our Classic Cask and Cask Strength Tasmanian Single Malt Whiskies.

Product Notes
Mizunara Oak is one of the rarest and most expensive oaks in the world. The age-old tree, beautiful in form, grows slowly as both trunk and branches twist and turn. Time is the wisest counsellor of all, and it can take up to 200 years for this rare tree to suitably mature to be ready for the perfect Whiskey cask. Craft and balance are then used to complement the unique Mizunara Oak, and our Head Distiller has carefully selected second fill bourbon casks from our Bothwell Distillery, ensuring a precise and mature spirit which subtly influences the oak, so that the rare Mizunara Oak shines through, from cask to glass.
