Heathcote Estate was planted in 1999 on the ancient Cambrian soils that define the heart of the region. The 500-million-year-old soils are integral to the distinctive characters in these special wines. The Kirby family established Heathcote Estate with the sole objective to make one wine - a single vineyard shiraz. And over the past decade, the label has forged a reputation for wines of exceptional character and longevity. Led by winemaker Tom Carson, our philosophy is to craft wines that speak of the distinct characteristics of Heathcote and more particularly, our own individual site. It’s the attention and care in the vineyard that allows this pure expression of our vineyard and incredible balance in our shiraz.

On the nose
The aroma is laden with red and black fruits with a hint of violet, and a whiff of roasted coffee.
On the palate
Deep and concentrated, the palate flows effortlessly with its layers of fruit and fine, savoury-edged tannin.
Product Notes
The 2019 vintage in Heathcote has produced wines of intense concentration and power. A warm and dry spring led into a classic Heathcote summer, with warm days and cool nights. Hand harvesting commenced on the 19th of February and proceeded until the 28th of February. The wines are archetypal Heathcote, darkly coloured, abundant fruit and depth of flavour with seamless structure and balance.
