Grasshopper Rock is a small Central Otago wine producer, dedicated exclusively to the production of first class, single vineyard Pinot Noir. Located among a small cluster of the World’s southern most vineyards, the site is one of the hottest, coldest and driest in Central Otago.

When to drink
Encourage cellaring for up to 5 years
On the nose
Vibrant red currant, blackberry and raspberry, perfumed with violets, spice, oak char and dried herb
On the palate
Sweet dark plum, cherry and blackcurrant with leather, clove, tobacco, and dark chocolate layers. Medium-bodied and very complex with silky fine tannins and a long and concentrated red fruit finish.
Product Notes
The fruit was destemmed into tanks to undergo fermentation by a mix of selected and wild yeast. Peak fermentation was 30°C. The total time on skins was approx 21 days. The wine was aged in French Oak Barriques for approximately ten months, of which 28% was new oak.
