Dal Zotto Pinot Bianco 2019 – King Valley, $23
Dal Zotto is a winery whose operation is one which may well have one foot firmly back in rural Italy, but their sights are set firmly on the possibilities and opportunities which Australia has provided them. The wines of Dal Zotto are filled with vibrancy, a dedication to excellence, and a set of flavours which encapsulate their approach.
The grape Pinot Blanc or Pinot Bianco is, in all probability, a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir or Pinot Grigio. It is part of the so-called "international" grapes of French origin but widely cultivated worldwide.
This Pinot Bianco is a medium to full bodied drop, with an elegant palate and good acidity. Flavours of pear, peach, raw almond and lemon zest.
Patrick Piuze Chablis 'Terrois De La Chapelle' Chardonnay 2019 – Chablis, $60
Patrick only sources wine from the original 12th century Chablis boundaries. All his cuvees hail from the celebrated Kimmeridgian limestone—a unique terroir rich in fossils, prized for creating stony, complex Chardonnays.
Always the most immediately accessible of Patrick’s village Chablis, this bottling captures notes of delicate citrus, stone fruit and white flowers.
It is wrapped in a buttery texture filled with bright, energetic saline notes and racy acidity.
Yalumba Syrah 2019 – Eden Valley, $38
Yalumba Distinguished Sites is a family of exceptional wines; each carefully sourced and masterfully crafted to capture the true essence of specific, special sites from which it is grown.
Aromatic and floral with opulent aromas of rose, violets, mixed red berries and spice.
Complex fruit flavours dance across the long, lingering palate—a delicious medium-bodied wine with fine, elegant tannins.
